Orton Summer Camp's #1 priority is camper safety. We provide appropriate staff to camper ratios, are very aware of sun safety, as well as provide a caring and inclusive environment for all.
We pride ourselves on a strictly outdoor camp as we want children to truly connect with nature through our engaging and safe programs. The new pavilion, tents, and trees will provide adequate coverage during hot days and/or rainy moments.
Appropriate clothing and safety accessories for all campers:
Dress for all weather – dress in layers, hiking/running shoes, rubber boots, rain coat etc.
Closed-toed shoes are mandatory (especially for the climber)
Hat
Sunscreen (must be applied before arriving to camp)
Bug Spray
A reusable water bottle, filled daily with fresh water
**Please label all clothing and accessories
Food
Campers are responsible for supplying all of their own food & drink, including a healthy lunch, along with morning and afternoon snacks.
Please keep in mind that children tend to eat more at camp than a typical school day because of increased activity and exercise!
Allergy Awareness– Comparable to the school environment, we ask that you respect possible nut allergies and do not pack any nuts products in your child(ren)'s lunch!
